I want to start my musical diary 2019 with this smooth instrumental album by australian producer Ta-ku . This one isn’t brand new, but it is a beautiful Hommage to the japanese Hip Hop producer Nujabes, and besides that, i love those concept albums where you can listen to the entire album without skipping any song which is still very very unique these days. Have a great 2019 and may the force be with you. (insert Star Wars Character voice here)
This short mix by DJ Riz is by far the best rare groove, funk and soul collection from originals that have been sampled and covered by several artists out there. The whole Hip Hop community used those samples and far more to build instrumentals back in the days. The music stops at minute 29.

Still love this disco mix by Paul Nice, which was recorded during a live performance in New York. If you’re using your smartphone right now, you can listen to 60 minutes of sweet disco music while texting on WhatsApp, scrolling through your Facebook feed or simply doing something great in real life meanwhile. Either way, have a good day! P.S. You can also activate your lock screen and the music keeps on playing…awesome!
Two of my favorite songs by New Zealand based producer and multi instrumentalist Lord Echo. Those songs are absolutely timeless, and i don’t get why this artist is still commonly unknown within the western hemisphere. Hope you like his music as much as i do.
A pretty neat “Ready Or Not” rework, found on Amerigo Gazaway‘s latest project called “Nina Simone & Lauryn Hill – The Miseducation of Eunice Waymon”. You can download and listen to the entire album on his Bandcamp page if you like to (or you can use the arrows within the player beneath to skip through the entire album).
Uhh…and i love that the last few seconds are taken from the original “Ready or Not” by The Delfonics from 1969…brilliant.
Those two groundbreaking Mixtapes have truly changed our perspective on how to mix music with two turntables back in the days. Both mixes combined are about 2 hours 30 minutes, packed with all the hits from the 80s mixed in a very unique kind of way. 20years later i still want to salute you for those Masterpieces, Mr. Spinbad.
